After getting my DSLR and playing about taking some pictures for various client websites, I found that the popup flash was giving a really hard light close up (duh). Anyway, not wanting to spend any money, I had a look round to see if I could find anything to diffuse the flash and give a softer light. I had an empty Extra chewing gum tub, with the flip up lid, handy.
The lid fits around the hot-shoe and flash perfectly and the semi translucent lid covers the entire flash head on my EOS 650D. The lid is quite large, so you could no doubt stick something onto it to soften the flash even more. I had some test shots, but the Mrs wouldn’t want them on here…
